When the band plays the Tiger war song, and when the fray is through, we will tramp, tramp, tramp around the Columns with a cheer for Old Mizzou
Along with our brothers in the Eta Upsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, Zeta Omega is responsible for Big MO, which at 9 feet tall and 4 feet 6 inches wide, is the largest bass drum in college football. Originally donated to the University of Missouri in 1980 by the Tiger Quarterback Club of St. Louis, since 1993, Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma have staffed the Big MO crew at every Mizzou home football game. In 2011, both organizations held a fundraising campaign to replace the worn-out drum with a bigger one to accompany the Tigers' move to the SEC. The new 800-pound bass drum, built by the Boumpani Music Company in Barnesville, Georgia, debuted during the 2012 football season while the old Big MO was put on permanent display in the MU Student Center. Since then, Big MO has continued to participate in pregame with Marching Mizzou and to help lead Memorial Stadium's M-I-Z Z-O-U chants.
Big MO crew spots are open first to current and alumni members of Tau Beta Sigma - Zeta Omega and Kappa Kappa Psi - Eta Upsilon and their families with any remaining spots open to Marching Mizzou alumni and their families. It costs $25 per person and crew members will be given a polo to wear for the day when they sign in with one of the Big MO chairs at the game. A sign-up sheet will be released to our alumni close to the start of the football season.
