The Zeta Omega Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma was chartered at the University of Missouri on September 11, 1982. The chapter's first officers were Joan Dalzell as president, Elsa Johnson as vice president, Kim Kinkead as secretary and Sharon Schiller as treasurer. Our big sister chapter is Delta Xi, located at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Zeta Omega is located in the Midwest District of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. Zeta Omega is a four time finalist for the Grace and A. Frank Martin Chapter Leadership Award - awarded to the most outstanding TBS chapter in the nation every every two years - during the 1985-87, 1987-89, 2011-13 and 2013-15 bienniums.
The faculty sponsor of Zeta Omega and director of bands at the University of Missouri is Dr. Brian Silvey. The director of the MU School of Music is Dr. Julia Gaines. The director of athletic bands is Dr. Amy Knopps and the assistant director of athletic bands is Dr. Pete Zambito.
